Club History
The Kiwanis
Club of Paris was officially chartered in April 2001 (our charter was
presented at a special ceremony in May 2001). Eager to play an active role in
community service, the core group of members temporarily joined the
Kiwanis Club of Brantford (our sponsoring club) in June 2000, so they
could organize and host the first Kiwanis Family Fun Day in Paris.
A great
success, the Fun Day attracted more than 400 children and their parents by
providing free activities and entertainment for children and information
for parents. The club will sponsor its 7th Annual Family Fun Day in late
September 2006.
The Paris
Club is also a key sponsor for the Paris Santa Claus Parade, sponsors CPR
training at Paris District High School, organizes the Kits for Kids
program, and is involved in the Children's Safety Village of Brant. To support these, and
other, community programs the club annually organizes a golf tournament and undertakes fundraising activities, such as the Kiwanis Christmas
Cakes & Cookies Sale.
The Kiwanis
Club of Paris is proud to be a part of Kiwanis International — a worldwide
service organization.
